Bio btn

Poland-based singer-songwriter Maciej Szkonter incorporates his skill in music and film production, to create soundscapes that strive to capture the idyllic countryside background that he hails from.

Born in 1995, he spent the first eighteen years of his life in a small village in Poland. Running free, exploring surrounding forests and meadows he started developing his love for nature, which vastness allured him to explore inwards.

Consuming tons of movies and books his taste developed over the years. He picked up ukulele as a joke in 2014, (jokes on him((me, I’m writing this - Maciej - and I know.. it’s weird)) it stuck). It didn’t develop further than strumming for fun until he met his friend - Tomasz Szuliński. He was a musician and he offered Maciej to make a record together. Even though the record didn’t come to fruition (yet) it set Maciej on a path of making his own album.

In 2018 he got into Lodz Film School, focusing on filmmaking. In the two years leading up to 2020 he developed as a director, not so much as a musician. It has changed in 2020. Quarantine plus a fresh broken heart lead him up to his piano. Honing his skills, learning music production and songwriting he gave birth to his first solo album.
